INVISIBLE MONUMENTS
Sergi Mimarisi ve Sergi Tasarımı · FMV Galeri Işık, Nişantaşı, İstanbul · 2025. "Chimneys, often overlooked and invisible to most, embody for me notions of change, progress, architectural intention and environmental awareness," says photographer Eren İnönü of the industrial structures at the centre of this exhibition. Exhibition Architecture, FMV Galeri Işık, Nişantaşı, Istanbul. TUNK: İstanbul mimarlık, sergi tasarımı ve enstalasyon ofisi.
The exhibition surrounds the visitor with a spatial experience as much as with photographs. At its centre stands a shell like structure: stepping inside, the visitor experiences the sensation of standing within a chimney, while three stacked screens set into the shell bring different chimneys together in a single body. A large screen at the end of the sequence sets the photographs into motion, and seven screens built into the storefront windows carry the exhibition out to the street, connecting the gallery to the city outside.
