Samih Rıfat “Much Is to Be Done”

Sergi Mimarisi ve Sergi Tasarımı · Pera Müzesi, İstanbul · 2025. A non-linear spatial system for Samih Rifat's multidisciplinary archive, spanning photography, film, writing and design, staged as an intellectual topography rather than a chronological retrospective. Exhibition Architecture, Pera Museum, Istanbul. TUNK: İstanbul mimarlık, sergi tasarımı ve enstalasyon ofisi.

The design treats Rifat's practice as photographer, translator, documentary filmmaker, writer, poet and publisher as one interconnected body of thought rather than separate disciplines, and stages it as a topography visitors navigate on their own terms rather than a fixed route. Body-scaled display elements, repeated across the plan but constantly changing orientation, become independent presences in the room rather than mere surfaces for the work. Thin lighting elements suspended like strings define each element within its own field of light, so the exhibition unfolds gradually through movement instead of being read at a glance.
